Blackwater contains human waste and is unsafe to dump anywhere except an approved sewer connection or dump station. It must be stored in its own tank and disposed of very carefully.
Emptying your tank too often or when it’s still pretty “low” means solid waste may be left behind (search “poop pyramid“). The fuller the tank, the more the solid waste will break down, especially when using a biologic.
Pro Tip: Always use a biologic to assist with waste breakdown. Wait until the holding tank is at least two-thirds (or more) full before emptying. If possible, don’t dump more than once every few days to a week—longer intervals mean more time to break down solids.
